I'M TOTALLY GEEKING OUT RIGHT NOW!
Man is it a great time to be a tech gadget geek! Just look at what's on the market today. You've got the not-as-new, but still-as-shiny Apple iPhone, the new Nokia N810 - like a GPS enabled laptop in your shirt pocket, the Asus Eee PC, (which *is* a laptop that will almost fit in your pocket), the Zonbu Notebook, all the convenience of a standard laptop without the price, the iPod Touch, aka the iPhone without the Phone, UMPC's a' plenty, Leopard is out, Vista is out (if anyone really cares), XP is due to get a new Service Pack.
The PSP just got refreshed, and now has some decent games for it, the DS Lite is still going strong, and there are rumors of a DS Liter with possible Virtual Console style properties. Speaking of rumors, you've got the at-least-as-old-as-the-iPhone rumors of the dreamed-of MacTablet (or Mac Touch, or iTablet, or MacNewton, or iNewton, or iTouch myMac, or iPhone Macro, or whatever the rumor mill is calling it this week). If there is a Mac Tablet (other than the very real, and very cool, and very expensive ModBook which is a modified MacBook), then I, and just about everyone else in geekdom, want one!
Then, of course, there's the Wii, the Xbox 360, and the PS3. Whatever your console of choice, the no-longer-next generation consoles are going strong, with awesome games like Rock Band, Super Mario Galaxy, Guitar Hero 3, The Orange Box (YAY PORTALS!), and so on. With MacWorld just around the corner, Vista SP1 and XP SP3 coming down the pike, solid state memory both dropping in price and skyrocketing in storage, CPUs like the Penryn being released that both give more processing power and use less electrical power. High concept gadgets like the Bug from BugLabs.net redefining the term "unlocked gadget". Wow. Just wow.
If you aren't geeking out about something this holiday season, you need to make sure your pocket protector isn't in upside down - either that or turn it in along with your snort-laugh to the local Best Buy - because you, sir, are no geek!

Chad,
It certainly is a great time to be a geek, that nokia 810 sounds awesome. I'm a bit jealous of Trevor because he has one.
I mentioned a few contests I was doing in December during the fab 4 panel. I wanted to leave you a note personally inviting you to participate if you were interested. I think one of the prizes might just be geekworthy enough for you to enjoy. Check out http://www.benspark.com/photo-a-day-966-113007.html for more info.
