Open Social and the Future of Social Networking

There has been a lot of talk around the web on why OpenSocial is just not open enough. But for now lets rest the speculation of all the bloggers aside and have a look at the emergence of all theses platforms. It all started when facebook launched it platform at a conference earlier this year. This allowed developers to write apps for the facebook social network, they had to use FBML or FQL (the standards used for coding Facebook Markup Language and Facebook Query Language) and until recently they could not use iframe to embed the apps. Developers embraced the platform and started writing apps for Facebook.
