Gettin' Close to the Stars

I recently moved closer to Branson, Missouri than I've ever been. One day I will probably have to go down there and check out the sites and the shows and the stuff they have there. I've never been there, but now that it is so close, it's only a matter of time. Have you ever lived near a major tourist attraction? If so, did you go to it often / ever? Did you like it, or hate it?
