Can Linux Replace Windows?

So, while the success of Firefox shows that people wanted an alternative to Internet Explorer, I really do think Vista is the tipping point for a desire for an alternative in the OS arena. People are tired of Microsoft. They are tired of the barrage of security concerns, of the blue screens, the lock-ups.

How right you are. I have abandoned MS OS after years of use and am using DreamLinux (a Debian distro) with xfce as my desktop. The migration was not without problems and there are still some softwares I need to replace (Acoustica for sound editing and Pinnicle Studio 10 for video) but I really have had it with MS and will not go back.

I don't know about video editing, but Audacity, audacity.sourceforget.net, is great!
