Why go Wired?
Even in the age of the wireless connection, there are still plenty of good reasons to have lots of network cables to use. Not even the 802.11n standard can deliver speeds as high as gigabit Ethernet connections. And with wired networking, you don't have to worry about interference from things like wireless video game controllers, microwaves, plumbing, cordless phones, other people's wireless service, baby monitors, bad weather, etc. Just plug it in, and you're online.
