Visit the Outer Banks

The Outer Banks are a 100-mile long string of narrow barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina on the East Coast of the USA. They are a major tourist destination known for great weather and wide open beaches. The Wright brothers' first flights in a powered, heavier-than-air vehicle took place on the Outer Banks, on December 17, 1903 in the sea front town of Kill Devil Hills.
