Christmas Web Design

Are you a starving internet artist in need of some money for holiday gifts? Are you an up-and-coming web jockey who needs a place to show off your skills? Are you a seasoned digital veteran who wants to see if you still got it, while getting some pocket change? Well let me tell you about the FeedCycle Twelve days of Christmas competition. First place gets five hundred dollars. And second place gets three hundred dollars. Not too Not too shabby, if you ask me.

FeedCycle is a web service that allows users to create serialized RSS web feeds. What are serialized RSS web feeds you ask? That's a good question. Thanks for asking. Serialized RSS web feeds are sequential episodes from within a series of episodes. The subscriber always starts at the beginning regardless when they start their subscription. So, unlike a standard SS feed, which just picks up from where a user signs up - the serialized variety have an absolute starting point. They are not date assigned, they are order assigned. So, say you wanted to read the bible through in a year. A standard RSS feed could tell you what to read for that calendar day, so if you started on some random Tuesday in May, you'd start somewhere in II Kings 15 or something, but if the feed were serialized, it wouldn't matter if you started on January 1, December 25, May 16, or August 9 - you'd always start in Genesis 1:1.

It's a pretty cool idea if you ask me. And best of all - it's free. Well, the basic features are free. There are for-fee levels of service available as well.
