Joystiq complains about having to use the Wiimote to play Twilight Princess

I'm stunned that Joystiq would complain about this - but it turns out you have to use the Wiimote to play Wii games, at least for Twilight Princess Wii Edition, you can't use the GameCube controller. Shocked - I know. If you want use the GameCube controller - try buying the GameCube edition - and not the Wii one. And heck, play it on GameCube.
