More about me than a quiz

Hi,

My name is Chad. This is my blog. I really don't know why you are here. Do you really want to spend your time reading about some guy who threw up a blog? I guess you do, since you're still reading this.

I'm 27 years old, (as of the date of this posting - my birthday is February 7, 1978, so you can do the math for how old I am when you read this). I'm single. I'm a web designer by trade, so blogging is kinda in the face of my job, since web design isn't needed anymore, just go through the wizard and pick you template. But, the times, they are a changing, and you gotta roll with the punches.

I live in Chattanooga, TN. It's a smaller city, or a larger town - depending on your viewpoint - in Southeastern Tenneessee, in the Southeastern United States of America. It's a beautiful place to live. It's surrounded by mountains, and it has a river. It's called "America's most scenic city". Which means that it's purdy to look at, but ain't nuthin' t'do. That's not really true, there's plenty to do, but it's fun to complain sometimes.

I'm a Christian. That means I've accepted Christ as my personal Saviour. That doesn't make me any better than anyone else. That doesn't make me anything other than forgiven. I've done, and continue to do, pretty awful things - but because of God's gift of His Son to die in my place and rise from the dead on the third day, my sins - the bad things I do - no longer separate me from God. As a result, I don't have to pay the price for my own sins, which is Hell, Jesus Christ already paid them for me. He didn't have any sins to pay for of His own, because He is God, and He is perfect - without sin or fault. So when He died, it wasn't for His own sin, it was for mine, and yours, and everyone's. The penalty of breaking God's law (ie, sin), is death. But since Christ died in my place, I don't have to die spiritually. When my body dies, I'll go to be with God and Jesus forever. Again, but no means is this because of any good deed that I've done, or any price that I paid for my own sins, or by anything good or cool or holy or spiritual about me - it's just because I accepted the gift of salvation from God - a gift is something that is free to you, but cost the giver something - and I've placed my faith in the finished work of Christ - that what He did for me is enough to pay the price for my sin.

I'll add more later - but I wanted to get the important thing out here up front. Nothing is good about me except Jesus. So, everything else is secondary.
