Stop Pain Cold

I just tried a new product called Freeze It. It's a pain relieving gel. It's a lot like IcyHot or similiar products. Freeze It has a pleasant minty smell that isn't long lasting, and it doesn't leave your skin all greasy.

I tried it out the other day, and here's is my Freeze It experience.

First of all, I must say that I'm not too experienced in the pain relief gel market. I am not an athlete by any means, so when I do get muscle aches, it's because I had to do something that I probably didn't want to do in the first place (like move my stuff to another apartment). In those rare occassions, I don't plan ahead for the pain, so I don't make a special trip to the store for some IcyHot or BenGay, and since my average day's aches and pains are related to TMJ and carpal tunnel syndrome, it's not something I would have on hand "just in case." With that disclaimer out of the way, I'll say that the Freeze It gel worked very well for me.

I could feel it start to go to work right away, the cooling sensation was immediate. I think, for me at least, the smell was also theurputic. It reminded me, (in a good way) of the Vic's VapoRub smell from my childhood. (Well, I've used Vics as an adult, too, but I first smelled it as a kid.) And the cooling sensation lasted for a few hours. I was feeling no pain in the applied areas. It was a bit tingily at first, but that didn't last long. It did what it was supposed to do. Cool away the pain.

Based on my experience, I would recommend this to my friends if they complained of muscle pain. Again, I'm no doctor, coach, or physical therapist. I'm just sharing my experience. And it was a good one.
